Archery

Learn the basics of shooting the bow and arrow, utilizing some of the techniques and methods that have been adopted by the Celilo Bowmen Archery Club. This course is for people 18 years of age or older with the desire to shoot a bow and arrow, but have little or no experience. Learn archery shooting fundamentals while gaining knowledge about equipment options and choices. Note: all equipment will be provided by the Celilo Bowmen Archery Club, but you may bring your own. Closed toe shoes or boots required. Every class participant must sign a waiver to access and shoot on the grounds. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to first class to fill out paperwork. No discounts or waivers.
First Aid CPR and AED - Cascade Locks

The Heartsaver First Aid Course Teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical service personnel arrive. The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid, adult/infant CPR, and Automated External Defibrillation AED. Course meets the State of Oregon daycare licensing requirement. American Heart Association (AHA) requires all students to have a copy of the course textbook to prepare for the course and to have it available for personal use. Students must bring a copy of the textbook to class. The book will be provided to you in class.
American Heart Association Instructor Recertification - BLS

Completion of this course will renew certification as a BLS Instructor through the American Heart Association (AHA). Lab fee includes renewal of CGCC TC affiliation fee. This course is completed in classroom sessions with other instructors to discuss teaching methodology, current science and changes, paperwork, and demonstrate your ability to perform CPR and use the AED correctly and effectively. Each instructor will be monitored in the second half of the class, teaching part of an actual CPR class. The American Heart Association BLS Instructor is authorized to teach both the Heartsaver community level provider classes and the BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR courses. Prior to enrolling in the BLS Instructor course, you must have the following:
• A current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR card
• IF you intend to teach Heartsaver in addition to BLS- Also have a current AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR card
• A current AHA BLS Instructor card
• Have completed any required AHA updates or training in the current certification cycle.
Batik: Basics and Beyond

Batik is an ancient art dating back to the time of the pharaohs. In this four-day class, you will design and create three projects to develop your skills using several waxing and dyeing techniques. Each project will build on the previous one to improve your skills and understanding. No previous experience is required.This is a hands-on class and the technique is messy. Bring an apron and/or wear old clothes, rubber gloves, a dust mask and a clean jar lid (peanut butter, mayonnaise, pickles, etc.) The dust mask is to protect you from dye and chemical dusts while mixing solutions. Suitable for age 16 and older. $15 fee for supplies. No discounts or waivers.
BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR Course - The Dalles

Covers the knowledge and skills for Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers, initial and renewal certification. Prepares a wide variety of healthcare professionals to recognize sudden cardiac arrest, respiratory emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in both children and adults. Successful completion of this course provides certification and an AHA BLS Provider Card. The American Heart Association (AHA) requires all students to have a current copy of the course textbook to have it available for personal use. This book will be provided to you in class.
