BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR Course (Blended) - Hood River

Blended learning is a combination of eLearning (online portion), in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session. Covers the knowledge and skills for Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers, initial and renewal certification. Prepares a wide variety of healthcare professionals to recognize sudden cardiac arrest, respiratory emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in both children and adults. Successful completion of this course provides certification and an AHA BLS Provider Card. Online class portion needs to be done before the day of class. You will receive an email from CGCC AHA Training center with a link to the online class portion.

Documenting Observations Confidently and Professionally

Participants will examine the appropriate and inappropriate use of assessment methods. Practice writing documentation, build from objective observation to implementing in a portfolio, and as well as a classroom environment filled with children’s work. Set Two in OA.
Fundamentals of 3D Printing

In this course, students will learn about several different methods of additive manufacturing. They will learn the techniques, procedures, and safety precautions for operating several 3D printing machines, including SLA and FDM 3D printers. They will also learn about the use of 3D scanners for object reproduction or mechanical integration. Students will learn many different ways to incorporate 3D printing into their creative process, and how to think in 3 dimensional terms while problem solving. This course will include instruction on the basics of using Blender, a free and open source 3D modeling program, so they can print just about anything they wish, whether or not it already exists. By the end of this course, students will have the opportunity to take home a 3D print of their very own. For this class it is recommended to bring a personal laptop with a 3-button mouse, but we can provide those things if needed. Note that this class involves the handling of somewhat toxic materials such as UV resin, but we will be exercising caution with the use of PPE and safety protocols.

This class is for beginning potters and covers levels of hand-building and wheel-throwing technique working with cone 6, mid-range clay and glazes with instruction in both.
