Spanish for Beginners (Session Three of Four)

This is a traditional Spanish as a second language course. The third class is part three of a four-part series. In this session, students will learn Spanish pronunciation of the five vowel sounds, about words that are similar in English and Spanish (cognates), common Spanish language names, the language used to get to know people, talk about family members, making words plural, classroom expressions, indefinite articles, and action verbs. The textbook for this class is Spanish is Fun: Lively Lessons for Beginners, Fourth Edition (available on Amazon for purchase) and is required for participation in this course. No discount or waivers available.

What recent space discoveries have revealed about the age and nature of the Earth, Moon, planets, Solar System, galaxies and the universe. Ten sessions, studying a photo filled book "Guide to the Universe" with presentations' by son of the Lunar and Planetary Astronomer, Gerard P. Kuiper.

First Aid CPR and AED - Hood River

The Heartsaver First Aid Course Teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical service personnel arrive. The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid, adult/infant CPR, and Automated External Defibrillation AED. Course meets the State of Oregon daycare licensing requirement. American Heart Association (AHA) requires all students to have a copy of the course textbook to prepare for the course and to have it available for personal use. Students must bring a copy of the textbook to class. The book will be provided to you in class.

Medicare 101

Medicare options keep changing, but most people still have to sign up at 65. This class will explain the options for Medicare Parts A, B, C and D. It is designed for people who are nearing age 65. It is also relevant to family members, health care professionals and social service providers who assist Medicare beneficiaries with their health insurance options. Bring your questions. All will be answered during the class or by follow-up contact. 

This will be done via Zoom at Mid-Columbia Senior Center. If unable to attend in-person zoom link can be sent to you via email.

BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR Course - Hood River

Covers the knowledge and skills for Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers, initial and renewal certification. Prepares a wide variety of healthcare professionals to recognize sudden cardiac arrest, respiratory emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in both children and adults. Successful completion of this course provides certification and an AHA BLS Provider Card. The American Heart Association (AHA) requires all students to have a current copy of the course textbook to have it available for personal use. This book will be provided to you in class.
