El Curso de Primero Auxilios de Heartsaver enseña a rescatistas a reconocer y tratar eficazmente las emergencias de adultos en los primeros minutos críticos hasta que llegue el personal del servicio médico de emergencia. El curso también provee un entrenamiento completo de salud y seguridad de soluciones de Primeros Auxilios, Cardiopulmonar y Resucitación de adultos e infantes,y un Desfibrilador Automático Externo (conocido por sus siglas en inglés, AED). El curso cumple con el requisito de licencia para el cuidado infantil del Estado de Oregon. La Asociación de American Heart (AHA, por sus siglas en inglés) requiere que todos los estudiantes tengan un copia del libro de texto para prepararse para el curso y para tenerlo disponible para uso personal. El libro se le proveerá en clase.
