Learn the basics of shooting the bow and arrow, utilizing some of the techniques and methods that have been adopted by the Celilo Bowman Archery Club. This course is for people 8 years of age or older with the desire to shoot a bow and arrow, but have little or no experience. Learn archery shooting fundamentals while gaining knowledge about equipment options and choices. Note: all equipment will be provided by the Celilo Bowmen Archery Club, but you may bring your own. Closed toe shoes or boots required. Every class participant must sign a waiver to access and shoot on the grounds. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present throughout the class. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to first class to fill out paperwork. No discounts or waivers.

Bicycle Basket Weaving

Have you ever wanted to learn how to weave a basket? This is your chance to weave a Bicycle Basket. You will learn every step and leave with a completed Bicycle Basket. The techniques you will learn in this basket are a standard start stop weave, twining for locking in the base, and weaving space for the leather straps. We will be using reed from a woody vine out of Asia. These vines grow quickly and the material is wonderful for this type of weaving. No discounts or waivers.
Beginning Watercolor and Multimedia Paint

Students will get the opportunity to explore all the basic watercolor painting techniques as well as the use of different papers, watercolor paints, inks, pencils and other materials in this 4 week course. Representational and abstract subject matter will be explored in this series. This class is for students age 12 and older.

Simple Handmade Pastas

NRA Basic Pistol Safety Course

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course is for beginning and intermediate students to learn the basics of pistol safety and handling from local qualified instructors.
• Classroom is located in the basement of the Mid Columbia Senior Center, 1112 W 9th St, The Dalles, OR.
• All shooting for the class is conducted at the Indoor Range of The Dalles Rifle & Pistol Club.
• Students will be required to certify to their legal eligibility and sign a Firearm Release Form.
• Must attend all four sessions to complete the course. Emergency situations considered. Successful participants will receive a certificate of completion, which is required to apply for an Oregon Concealed Handgun License. No discounts or waivers.
