Studio time to develop your pottery skills to a new level by taking this class! It’s a chance to spread your wings and create what you want. This class is for beginning and advanced potters and covers levels of hand-building and wheel-throwing technique working with cone 6, mid-range clay and glazes with instruction in both. Clay is not included, but can be purchased from the CGCC Bookstore. Must be registered for Pottery as well. No discounts or waivers.

sUAS FAA Exam Prep

Are you interested in becoming a commercial drone pilot? You must successfully complete the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Knowledge Exam to earn a Remote Pilot Certificate with a Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) rating. This class is the key to your success! It uses time-proven and dependable content to prepare you for your FAA Knowledge Exam. Each class includes the figures, legends, and full-color charts from the FAA Airman Knowledge Testing Supplement to familiarize you with the information you’ll be tested on. Classes promote an understanding of FAA regulations, the National Airspace System, weather, loading and performance, and operation. In addition, you will be given practice tests throughout the class. The sUAS class requires that all students register for the Remote Pilot License Exam at the end of the course. This $175.00 cost of this exam is not included in course registration. Rather, you will be expected to provide pay directly to the FAA testing center.

NRA Basic Pistol Safety Course

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course is for beginning and intermediate students to learn the basics of pistol safety and handling from local qualified instructors. • Classroom is located in the basement of the Mid Columbia Senior Center, 1112 W 9th St, The Dalles, OR. • All shooting for the class is conducted at the Indoor Range of The Dalles Rifle & Pistol Club. • Students will be required to certify to their legal eligibility and sign a Firearm Release Form. • Must attend all four sessions to complete the course. Emergency situations considered. Successful participants will receive a certificate of completion, which is required to apply for an Oregon Concealed Handgun License. Students will be required to wear a mask to class. No discounts or waivers.

Learn the basics of shooting the bow and arrow, utilizing some of the techniques and methods that have been adopted by the Celilo Bowman Archery Club. This course is for people 8 years of age or older with the desire to shoot a bow and arrow, but have little or no experience. Learn archery shooting fundamentals while gaining knowledge about equipment options and choices. Note: all equipment will be provided by the Celilo Bowmen Archery Club, but you may bring your own. Closed toe shoes or boots required. Every class participant must sign a waiver to access and shoot on the grounds. Anyone under the age of 12 must have parent or guardian present throughout the class. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to first class to fill out paperwork. No discounts or waivers.

3D Design Using Blender

Do you ever feel like 3D modeling is too complicated and expensive to learn? It doesn't have to be! Blender is a free, open source 3D modeling program and a valuable skill to have for many reasons. It can be used for a wide variety of purposes, like mockup engineering, sculpting, drawing, animation, 3D printing, game development, physics simulation, video editing, compositing, and rendering. Use Blender to explore any and all of these possibilities without the huge investment required by many other 3D programs. This course will guide you through the fundamentals of 3D Design. 3D modeling skills offer an incredible advantage for all sorts of creative pursuits. With these skills under your belt, you only have to see where your creativity takes you. It is recommended but not required to bring a Laptop and 3-button Mouse for this course. It is also recommended to download Blender, a free 3D modeling program that we will use for basic design and model alteration.
