Good news! The future is here. 3D printing technology is incredible and you can learn how to harness it to bring your creative ideas to life! In this class you'll be learning about several different types of 3D printers, their strengths and weaknesses, and learning how to work on your own digital 3D designs. You'll practice on the variety of 3D printers at CGCC, and by the end, you will walk away with a unique print of your very own design.It is recommended but not required that you bring a laptop and three-button mouse for this course. It is also recommended that you download Blender, a free 3D modeling program that we will use for basic design and model alteration.

Do you ever feel like 3D modeling is too complicated and expensive to learn? It doesn't have to be! Blender is a free, open source 3D modeling program and a valuable skill to have for many reasons. It can be used for a wide variety of purposes, like mockup engineering, sculpting, drawing, animation, 3D printing, game development, physics simulation, video editing, compositing, and rendering. Use Blender to explore any and all of these possibilities without the huge investment required by many other 3D programs. This course will guide you through the fundamentals of 3D Design. 3D modeling skills offer an incredible advantage for all sorts of creative pursuits. With these skills under your belt, you only have to see where your creativity takes you.It is recommended but not required to bring a laptop and 3-button mouse for this course. It is also recommended to download Blender, a free 3D modeling program that we will use for basic design and model alteration.

Learn Fusion 360! It's a powerful 3D CAD software made to facilitate all of your engineering needs. In this class you'll learn and practice essential skills from sketching and editing in 3D to defining component motion and writing gcode for CNC operation. This is a valuable tool for bringing your ideas to life. Students will have access to Fusion 360 provided through an education license.
