Batik is an ancient art dating back to the time of the pharaohs. In this four-day class, you will design and create three projects to develop your skills using several waxing and dyeing techniques. Each project will build on the previous one to improve your skills and understanding. No previous experience is required.This is a hands-on class and the technique is messy. Bring an apron and/or wear old clothes, rubber gloves, a dust mask and a clean jar lid (peanut butter, mayonnaise, pickles, etc.) The dust mask is to protect you from dye and chemical dusts while mixing solutions. Suitable for age 16 and older. $15 fee for supplies. No discounts or waivers.
