Hood Aero Private Pilot Ground School

This course will provide guided exploration of many topics related to obtaining a private pilot certificate. By the end of the course, students will have the necessary knowledge to take the FAA Private Pilot Written Test required to obtain a private pilot's license - students will then have two years to complete the necessary flight training to earn their pilot’s license. Topics covered include; aerodynamics, federal aviation regulations, aircraft systems, meteorology, aviation weather sources, aircraft ownership and maintenance, navigation, airspace, airport operations, and career opportunities in the aviation industry. Course cost includes online access to training materials, text books and the necessary flight computer devices, and eleven hours of in-person instruction time with a certified flight instructor. Students who successfully complete the course will be eligible for a free introductory training flight with Hood Aero in Dallesport, Hood River, or Prineville. No discounts or waivers. Students will need to provide their own laptops or tablets to access the online materials and remote instruction.
